About the call
The call is a free, no-obligation 15-minute chat with Phillip Handley, a Chartered Financial Adviser with many years' experience in defined benefit pension transfer advice.
Phil explains in general terms how final salary pensions, transfer values and the regulated advice process work, and answers your questions in plain English. It's a chance to understand the process before you decide whether to do anything at all.
Start with the enquiry form
We recommend filling in the short enquiry form before you book. It only takes a couple of minutes, and it lets us check that we're able to help, so you don't spend time on a call that can't go anywhere.
We can arrange an introduction for people who live in the UK, are members of a funded defined benefit pension, have not yet started taking it, and have a transfer value of £50,000 or more. Members of unfunded public-sector schemes, such as the NHS, Teachers', Police, Firefighters', Civil Service and Armed Forces schemes, can't transfer to a defined contribution pension. Find out why.
If your transfer value is under £50,000, MoneyHelper offers free, impartial guidance.

What the call is and isn't
The call is:
- free, with no obligation
- general information about how defined benefit pensions, transfers and the advice process work
- a chance to ask questions and understand what regulated advice involves
The call isn't:
- advice. We do not give defined benefit pension transfer advice.
- a recommendation. Phil won't tell you whether a transfer is right for you.
- a commitment. You decide what, if anything, happens next.
The FCA starts from the position that a transfer is unlikely to be suitable for most people. If your safeguarded benefits are worth more than £30,000, the law requires you to take advice from an FCA-authorised firm with the pension transfer permission before you can transfer.
How we may be paid
The call is free. If you want regulated advice, we can introduce you to an FCA-authorised firm that holds the pension transfer permission. Arthur Browns may receive a fee from the firm we introduce you to if you become their client. The firm will explain its own charges in writing before you agree to anything.

Free guidance and scam warnings
Free, impartial guidance is available from MoneyHelper and, if you're 50 or over, Pension Wise.
Be wary of cold calls, offers of a "free pension review", or pressure to act quickly. Check the FCA's ScamSmart site before dealing with any firm.
Important: Arthur Browns Wealth Management Ltd (FCA 825843) does not give defined benefit pension transfer advice. The FCA starts from the position that a transfer is unlikely to be suitable for most people, and a transfer cannot usually be reversed. See Important information.
