We do not ask for special category information, such as details about your health. If you choose to tell us about your health, for example because it may affect your pension options, we will only use it to deal with your enquiry, and only with your explicit consent.

Introductions to other firms
We do not give defined benefit pension transfer advice. If you ask us to introduce you to an FCA-authorised firm that holds the pension transfer permission, and you give your consent on our enquiry form or in writing, we will share your name, contact details and the information you have given us with one such firm, so that it can contact you.
That firm becomes a separate controller of your information and will give you its own privacy notice. Arthur Browns may receive a fee from the firm we introduce you to if you become their client.
We will not share your details with any firm without your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing phil@arthurbrowns.co.uk. This won't affect anything shared before you withdrew it, but we will tell the firm and ask it to stop using your information for new contact.
Who else we share information with
We use trusted service providers who process information on our behalf and only on our instructions:
- Vercel, which hosts this website and provides our cookieless visitor statistics
- Resend, which delivers the enquiry form to our inbox by email, and our own email provider
- Cloudflare Turnstile, which may be used to protect the enquiry form from spam
- Calendly, to let you book a call with us. Calendly is based in the United States.
- Professional advisers, such as our compliance consultants, accountants and lawyers, where needed
- Regulators and authorities, such as the Financial Conduct Authority, the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Information Commissioner's Office, where we are required to or where it is needed to deal with a complaint
If our business, or part of it, is sold or restructured, your information may be transferred to the new owner, who may use it in the same way as set out in this policy.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Vercel, Resend, Cloudflare and Calendly, may process your information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries that don't lead to an introduction or advice: up to two years after our last contact
- Records of introductions and consents: up to six years, so we can deal with any questions or complaints
- Client records, if we advise you directly: for as long as our regulatory obligations require, which for some pension advice can be indefinitely
- Visitor statistics: these are anonymised and aggregated, and held in line with our hosting provider's settings
Keeping your information safe
We have put appropriate security measures in place to prevent your information from being lost, used or accessed without permission, changed or disclosed. Only people who need your information to do their job can see it, and they must keep it confidential. We have procedures to deal with any suspected data breach and will tell you and the regulator where we are legally required to.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason to keep it
- object to us using your information where we rely on our legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time
- ask us to restrict how we use your information
- ask us to transfer information you gave us to you or another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. You won't usually have to pay a fee. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will aim to respond within one month.
